Mjolnir Hammer of Thor Hiddensee Treasure Replica Steel Necklace
This Mjolnir is a replica of one of the sixteen Mjolnir Hammers found in the Hiddensee treasure. Found on a German island in the Baltic Sea, it contains Viking pieces from 970/980 that mix both Old Norse and Christian symbology.
This piece is a hybrid Christain cross and Thor's Hammer symbol, which were common across the Viking world during the time of conversion. Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir, was a symbol of protection and was worn well into the Christian age.
The head of the hammer shows a raven's head. This is another common motif in Viking art and references the ravens of Odin, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory). They would fly out into the world every day and tell the god everything that they saw.
This beautiful pendant is made of 316L stainless steel, a nickel and molybdenum alloy known for its sturdiness and corrosion resistance. The Hammer comes with a 60cm long chain and a gift wooden box.
