Balder Fell 925 Sterling Silver Signet Ring With Natural Onyx Stone

The God Balder was beloved by all in Asgard, all except Loki.

Balder was also blessed by prophetic dreams and dreamt about his own demise. Upon telling of the dream to his mother, the Goddess Frigg, she immediately decided to act, embarking on a journey through the Nine Realms to exact an oath from each and every material and object not to harm Balder.

Fire, water, stones, iron and every metal swore oaths. Each kind of illness swore an oath. Nothing could stay Frigg from her mission or resist her sweet persuasion. All the animals and plants swore oaths. All except for the mistletoe, which was considered too unimportant, nonthreatening and thus forgotten.

The ever envious Loki found out about this weakness and plotted Balder’s death by tricking Hodr (Balder’s blind brother) into shooting him with a mistletoe arrow.
