Freyr's Boar Gullinbursti Brass Pendant

The dwarves Sindri and Brokkr created Gullibustri, or Golden Bristles, as a gift to the God Freyr, after Loki betted his own head that the dwarven brothers were able to create items as magnificent as Odin’s spear Gungnir.

The boar could run through air and water better than any horse, and it could never become so dark with night or gloom of the Murky Regions that there should not be sufficient light where he went, such was the glow from its mane and bristles.

This beautiful pendant is made of brass, an alloy of copper and zinc of historical and enduring importance. The earliest brass, called calamine brass, dates to Neolithic times.
